This a Pendulum, but could be placed onto a chain to wear as a pendant. This pendulum/pendant is hexagonal black tourmaline prism with 2 clear quartz balls and a clear crystal hexagonal point. 

Black tourmaline is ideal for clearing and protecting the aura from negative influences. It helps us connect to the Earth and know we belong here. Protection & Purification

Black Tourmaline symbolizes safety, grounding, and protection. It has the symbolic energy of a shield, theoretically throwing a cloak over you when you come into contact with negativity from another person, or environmental risks. It gives you the confidence to have a positive attitude.

Clear quartz crystal is the most useful and versatile of gemstones for metaphysical work. It has the unique property of being "programmable", meaning you can infuse it with your intention and then it will amplify it, working on your behalf to manifest it in the world. It also acts to amplify the energies of any other stone you are working with.

How do pendulums work? It taps into your own intuition. Sometimes we find it hard to be guided by intuition., this lets us feel like we have an object to help us to decide. You can only ask yes or no questions as your answer can only be yes, no or undecided at this time.

First hold it in your hand to get a connection to the pendulum. You then must determine what swings mean yes or no. Usually circular is undecided. Ask a very simple question you know the answer is yes or no. Determine the swing for the appropriate answer. Then try with the opposite answering question. You need to know you are being accurate. 

If you get contradictory results then you are not really connected to your pendulum yet. You should sleep with it under your pillow. Secondly a person who has held it previously has a stronger connection and you will need to cleanse the crystal thoroughly by trying smudging or my preferred method to leave it out under the full moon and charge it with the intention that you and it become partners.
